The hevea tree is grown on the large tropical plantations of Asia.
The hevea milk is harvested by making narrow incisions in the tree’s bark.
The milk forms a bead and then flows along these spirals cut into the bark. Once harvested, this pure virgin milk is refined to create a unique sole full of tiny air bubbles offering exceptional levels of comfort.
The process used to make the LACTAE HEVEA® sole is unique in the world and is similar to the refining method used in cheese production:
- Pouring of the milk into the moulds
- Coagulation
- Baking
- Drying
A long and meticulous process for a rare and precious product. The daily harvest of around twenty trees is required to produce just one pair of LACTAE HEVEA® soles.
